Can you imagine waking up a morning and all you feel like doing is to cry because you feel this heavy burden of God wanting His children back.

Can you for one second, pause, and think about the position of God, about how He might feel when it comes to us, watching us prostituting ourselves with all type of idols, watching us treating Him as an option or acknowledging Him only when we need something, but not even Him for Him.

For several weeks now, God has been sharing me His pain and how His heart is aching from constantly witnessing us cheating on Him. Witnessing us trying to find peace, love, contentment in everything, but Him…

The book of Hosea present to us this interesting parallel between the relationship of a man and a prostitute and the relationship of God with the Church. Of how God never stop chasing after us, no matter how much we disgrace ourselves and do not honour Him.

As for me, I think the most hurtful part was realising how much I had drifted away from God. Unmindfully, some other things had taken His place on the throne of my heart. He was still very much there, but not first anymore. Rather than surrendering all to Him, here I was giving in to the worries and distractions of life.

And yet, Our God is not one to abandon us, even when we abandon Him. No, He remain good, faithful, and kind to us, as undeserving as we are. We are under the favour of His grace.

So often we are so lost in our pursue of Him, that we forget His pursue of us. Him who loved and pursued us first and continually. But I believe that it is time to learn to be amazed by God again and to know Him again.

To some, maybe He wants to remind you of who He was in a season of your life. To others, maybe He wants to present Himself differently. But in every case, He’s calling us deeper.

Calling us to go deeper with Him. To simply “come back” to Him is not enough anymore. It is not enough anymore to spend an hour or two with Him in His presence once a week.

He wants more. He wants more of us. And I feel like the people of God also want and need more. People of not satisfy anymore. Our souls’ thirst for Jesus.

More time in His presence. More obedience. More consecration. Deeper consecration. More holiness. More sacrifice. Deeper sacrifice. Deeper dimension. Seek Him deeper. Love Him deeper.

More of Him and less of us.

For the time that we have here, let us not waste it. For this life is not about us.
